You may remember the picture set of this house from about year ago. I was over today to see the update and will be putting up a new set of pictures in the next few days. As you can see from here, much of the original was preserved.

Drew is putting up his lovely AD Stenger home for sale.
Description:
A.D. Stenger designed mid-century gem in the heart of Zilker. This 4 bedroom, 3.5 bath, 2 living area U-shaped home has amazing light and positively glows at night. Clerestory windows, vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, cut stone fireplace, tounge-in-groove pine walls, original kitchen cabinets, cork and epoxy stone floors are just a few of the highlights.
Sensitive remodel and addition includes Gerkin casement windows, Rinai tankless water heater, Kolbe double sliding doors with custom hardware, retro light fixtures, built-in bookshelves and a hidden office nook.

I haven’t forgotten you all. Really. It has just been slow during the holidays so I focused on others things, like a whole modern austin overall. In the mean time, check out this lovely Frank De Groot mid-century modern home over in Shoalmont.

Just a reminder, this Sunday there is a modern homes tour. It is a bit different in that it focuses on homes that are on the market.
Here is the listing of all the homes. A few catch the eye, like the Cottam Hargrave and the new Ma Modulars from KRDB.

From the listing site:
This Mid Century Modern masterpiece was lovingly renovated and expanded to the Ideals of the Mid Century Modern Original Theory.
They were free thinkers and their homes were the cutting edge of technology. They had built in Television Wiring and Air Conditioning.
The Barton Hills subdivision was the “Parade of Homes” Tour in 1956 and
their claim to fame was the first all air conditioned subdivision… and the area was the first City of Austin Incorporated area South of the Colorado River, history in the making!

This was posted this past summer when it was FSBO (at least I think so), but the price drop is large enough to warrant a renewed listing. The Jordan Park area has some great MCM homes, while some need love, this one has already has a fair amount of updating.

Banners that shows up here are not ads. At least not in the sense that I get paid for them.
They are just people (and the companies they run) who I happen to like a lot and want to support in their endeavors.
